Overview

Bevacizumab + bromfenac is a combination therapy used primarily in ophthalmology, particularly for the treatment of exudative (wet) age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other retinal vascular diseases. Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby reducing abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage in the retina. Bromfenac is a topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, reducing ocular inflammation. The combination aims to enhance visual outcomes, reduce retinal edema, and potentially decrease the frequency of intravitreal bevacizumab injections by addressing both angiogenic and inflammatory pathways[1][3][5].
