Overview

A combination therapy consisting of bevacizumab (an anti-VEGF monoclonal antibody), capecitabine (a prodrug that converts to fluorouracil in tumor cells), and everolimus (an mTOR inhibitor). This regimen targets multiple pathways in cancer cells, with preclinical data suggesting that combined VEGF and mTOR inhibition provides greater anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor activity than either approach alone. The combination has been studied in clinical trials for metastatic colorectal cancer and advanced breast cancer.
