This is a combination regimen consisting of three drugs: - **Bevacizumab** is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby inhibiting angiogenesis and reducing blood supply to tumors. - **Cetuximab** is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), blocking ligand-induced activation and downstream signaling involved in cell proliferation and survival. - **Fluorouracil (5-FU)** is an antimetabolite chemotherapy agent that inhibits thymidylate synthase, disrupting DNA synthesis and leading to cell death. This combination has been investigated primarily for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer, often as part of first-line therapy regimens. Clinical trials have evaluated its efficacy compared to other standard regimens; however, concurrent use of both bevacizumab and cetuximab with chemotherapy has not shown superior outcomes over standard combinations using only one targeted agent[1][4]. The regimen may be referred to as FOLF-CB when leucovorin is also included[1].
