Overview

Bevacizumab + cisplatin + etoposide is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily in the treatment of small-cell lung cancer (SCLC), particularly extensive disease SCLC. This regimen combines the anti-angiogenic monoclonal antibody bevacizumab with the cytotoxic agents cisplatin and etoposide. Bevacizumab works by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), preventing the formation of new blood vessels that supply tumors. Cisplatin and etoposide are traditional chemotherapy agents that target rapidly dividing cells. The combination has been studied in clinical trials for its efficacy in improving overall survival and disease control rates in cancer patients.
