Bevacizumab + gemcitabine is a combination regimen of two anticancer agents used primarily in the treatment of certain solid tumors, including recurrent ovarian cancer and has been studied in pancreatic cancer. Bevacizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits angiogenesis by binding to and neutralizing vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby preventing the formation of new blood vessels necessary for tumor growth. Gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog (antimetabolite) that interferes with DNA synthesis, leading to cell death, particularly in rapidly dividing tumor cells. The combination leverages both anti-angiogenic and cytotoxic mechanisms to enhance antitumor efficacy[2][3][7].
