Overview

Bevacizumab + icotinib is a combination therapy consisting of two distinct agents used primarily in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with activating EGFR mutations, particularly the L858R mutation. Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), inhibiting angiogenesis and thereby restricting tumor blood supply. Icotinib is a first-generation small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase, blocking downstream signaling pathways involved in tumor proliferation and survival. The combination aims to provide synergistic antitumor effects by simultaneously targeting both tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis. Clinical studies have shown improved progression-free survival compared to monotherapy, especially in patients with EGFR L858R mutations[1][2][4][5].
