Overview

Bevacizumab + nivolumab is a combination of two monoclonal antibody drugs used in oncology. Bevacizumab is an anti-angiogenic agent that targets and neutralizes vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and reducing blood supply to tumors. Nivolumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, blocking its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2 and enhancing the immune system's ability to recognize and destroy cancer cells. This combination has been investigated for synergistic effects in various cancers, including relapsed ovarian cancer and advanced nonsquamous non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Clinical studies have shown activity in platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer as well as improved progression-free survival when combined with chemotherapy for NSCLC[1][3][5].
