Overview

This combination therapy consists of three components: **Bevacizumab** is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby blocking angiogenesis, the process by which new blood vessels form to supply tumors. It is approved for several cancers and marketed as Avastin. **Polyvalent vaccine-KLH conjugate** is a cancer vaccine composed of multiple tumor-associated antigens (such as Globo H, GM2, MUC1-TN, TF) each conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), designed to stimulate an immune response against cancer cells expressing these antigens[2][3][4]. **OPT-821**, also known as OBI-821, is a saponin-based immunological adjuvant derived from Quillaja saponaria and used to enhance the immune response generated by the vaccine[1][6]. This combination has been studied in patients with recurrent or high-grade serous ovarian cancer in remission following chemotherapy, aiming to prolong progression-free survival and overall survival by combining antiangiogenic therapy with active immunotherapy[3][4][5].
