A combination therapy consisting of bevacizumab or ranibizumab (anti-VEGF agents) with tenecteplase (a tissue plasminogen activator) and gas, used primarily for the treatment of submacular hemorrhage (SMH) secondary to neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). The therapeutic principle is based on three synergistic effects: the non-toxic and highly penetrating ability of tenecteplase to lyse blood clots, the mechanical displacement of submacular liquefied blood through gas bubbles, and the treatment of underlying choroidal neovascularization with anti-VEGF agents.
