Overview

Bevacizumab + rivaroxaban is a non-fixed combination therapy involving two distinct pharmaceutical agents. Bevacizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby suppressing angiogenesis, which is critical for tumor growth and metastasis. It is primarily used in the treatment of various cancers, including metastatic colorectal cancer and ovarian cancer. Rivaroxaban is an oral small molecule anticoagulant that selectively inhibits Factor Xa, interrupting the coagulation cascade to prevent thrombus formation. This combination may be used in patients with cancer who require both anti-angiogenic therapy (bevacizumab) and anticoagulation (rivaroxaban), such as those with concurrent malignancy-associated thrombosis or deep vein thrombosis. Clinical data suggest an increased risk of bleeding events when these drugs are co-administered, necessitating careful monitoring[1][2][3].
