Bevacizumab + simvastatin is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used experimentally for potential synergistic anti-tumor effects. Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby blocking angiogenesis and reducing tumor blood supply. Simvastatin is a small molecule statin that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, primarily used to lower cholesterol but also shown to have anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects in cancer cells. Preclinical studies indicate that the combination can synergistically suppress tumor cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and induce apoptosis more effectively than either agent alone[1][2][3].
