Bevacizumab + trastuzumab is a combination of two monoclonal antibodies used primarily in the treatment of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. Bevacizumab targets and inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby blocking angiogenesis, which is essential for tumor growth and metastasis. Trastuzumab targets the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), inhibiting proliferation of tumor cells that overexpress this receptor. The combination has been studied in several clinical trials, often with chemotherapy agents such as docetaxel or capecitabine, showing improved progression-free survival but not always overall survival benefit compared to standard regimens. Both drugs are biologics developed for targeted cancer therapy[1][4][5].
