Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bexmarilimab + nab-paclitaxel is an investigational combination therapy being developed by Faron Pharmaceuticals. Bexmarilimab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets Clever-1 (Common Lymphatic Endothelial and Vascular Endothelial Receptor-1), also known as Stabilin-1. Clever-1 is an immunosuppressive receptor expressed on tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and endothelial cells. By inhibiting Clever-1, bexmarilimab aims to convert pro-tumoral M2 macrophages into anti-tumoral M1 macrophages, thereby activating the immune system against the tumor. Nab-paclitaxel (nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel) is a microtubule inhibitor that interferes with cell division and induces apoptosis. The combination is being evaluated in the FINPROVE Phase 1 trial for patients with Clever-1 positive breast cancer, with the goal of enhancing chemotherapy efficacy through immune modulation and macrophage reprogramming.
