Drug intelligence / Profile preview
bi-(AID-1-T) is a bi-modular G-quadruplex (GQ) DNA aptamer designed by the covalent conjugation of two three-quartet AID-1-T molecules via a three-thymidine (TTT) linker. It exhibits anti-proliferative and cytostatic activity against high-grade glioma (including glioblastoma multiforme) by targeting the cytoplasmic form of poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase 1 (PARP1). While bi-(AID-1-T) monotherapy has been shown to inhibit glioma cell proliferation, it can paradoxically stimulate the migration of recurrent tumor cells. However, when combined with ionizing radiation, bi-(AID-1-T) acts synergistically to significantly reduce both cell proliferation and migration, suppressing radiation-induced migratory enhancement.
