Overview

**BI 695502 + chemotherapy** refers to the use of the bevacizumab biosimilar candidate BI 695502 in combination with chemotherapeutic regimens for cancer treatment, notably in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) and non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). BI 695502 is a biosimilar to the reference product bevacizumab (Avastin) and functions as an anti-angiogenic agent by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby preventing tumor blood vessel growth. In clinical studies, BI 695502 has been administered with standard chemotherapy regimens such as mFOLFOX6 (oxaliplatin, leucovorin, 5-fluorouracil) for mCRC and with paclitaxel/carboplatin for NSCLC. Studies have demonstrated safety, tolerability, bioequivalence to bevacizumab, and similar efficacy profiles for the combination in these indications[1][4][5][7][8].
