Overview

**BI 860585 + paclitaxel** is a combination of BI 860585, a potent, selective, ATP-competitive inhibitor targeting mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 and 2 (**mTORC1/2**), and paclitaxel, a microtubule-stabilizing antineoplastic agent. BI 860585 inhibits mTOR serine/threonine kinase activity, blocking cancer cell growth and survival signaling pathways; paclitaxel promotes microtubule assembly and inhibits disassembly, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The combination has been studied in phase 1 for advanced/metastatic solid tumors to assess safety, pharmacokinetics, and anti-tumor efficacy.
