Biejiajianwan (Beijing Ditan Hospital)

Biejiajianwan (also known as Biejiajian Pill) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula first recorded in the ancient medical text *Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber* (*Jingui Yaolue*) by Zhang Zhongjing. Composed of 23 herbal and animal-derived ingredients, including *Carapax Trionycis* (turtle shell), donkey-hide gelatin, and various other botanical and insect components, Biejiajianwan is traditionally used to invigorate blood circulation, resolve phlegm, and soften hard masses. In modern clinical practice, it is developed and evaluated (often in combination with antiviral therapies like entecavir) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B-related liver cirrhosis, liver fibrosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is manufactured by companies such as Sinopharm Group Zhonglian Pharmaceutical.
