Overview
Bifidobacterium longum R0175 + oligofructose is a synbiotic formulation consisting of a specific probiotic strain, *Bifidobacterium longum* R0175 (also known as Rosell-175), and the prebiotic fiber oligofructose. This combination is primarily classified as a psychobiotic, designed to influence mental health and cognitive function through the gut-brain axis. The probiotic component, R0175, has been shown to modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, thereby reducing systemic cortisol levels and attenuating the physiological response to stress. Oligofructose acts as a selective substrate, promoting the colonization and metabolic activity of the Bifidobacterium strain within the gastrointestinal tract.
