Overview

BIL06v + Alhydrogel is an investigational therapeutic peptide vaccine developed by Biosceptre for the treatment of solid tumors. The vaccine is composed of the E200 peptide epitope, which corresponds to amino acids 200–216 of the non-functional P2X7 receptor (nfP2X7), and is adjuvanted with Alhydrogel 2% (aluminum hydroxide). nfP2X7 is a conformationally distinct, cancer-associated form of the P2X7 receptor that is highly expressed on the surface of various solid tumor cells but is unable to form a non-selective pore, unlike the functional version found on healthy cells. By administering the E200 epitope, the vaccine stimulates the patient's immune system to produce specific antibodies that selectively bind to nfP2X7-expressing tumor cells, potentially leading to their destruction. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and has completed a Phase 1 dose-escalation study evaluating its safety, immunogenicity, and preliminary efficacy in patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors.
