Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BIMERVAX + SIIV refers to the co-administration of BIMERVAX, a recombinant protein COVID-19 vaccine developed by HIPRA, and a Seasonal Surface Antigen, Inactivated, Adjuvanted Influenza Vaccine (SIIV), specifically Fluad Tetra. BIMERVAX utilizes a recombinant protein homodimer of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor-binding domain (RBD) combined with a squalene-based adjuvant. Fluad Tetra is a quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine containing MF59 adjuvant. This combination regimen is evaluated in clinical trials to assess the safety and immunogenicity of simultaneous administration in elderly populations (aged 65 and older) who are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19, aiming to streamline immunization schedules for seasonal respiratory pathogens.
