Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BioChaperone Pramlintide + human insulin is a fixed-ratio co-formulation developed by Adocia for the mealtime (prandial) treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It combines human insulin with pramlintide, an amylin analog, using Adocia's proprietary BioChaperone technology. This technology enables the stabilization and solubilization of both biologics at a neutral pH in a single injection, mimicking the physiological co-secretion of insulin and amylin from pancreatic beta cells. The combination aims to provide superior postprandial glycemic control and reduce the treatment burden by eliminating the need for separate injections of insulin and amylin analogs. Phase 1 clinical trials have demonstrated improved blood glucose control compared to separate injections or insulin lispro alone.
