Bismuth + vonoprazan is a combination therapy regimen primarily investigated by National Taiwan University Hospital for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* (*H. pylori*). This regimen combines vonoprazan, a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that provides more potent and sustained gastric acid suppression compared to traditional proton pump inhibitors, with bismuth (typically as bismuth tripotassium dicitrate). Bismuth exerts direct antibacterial effects against *H. pylori*, prevents bacterial adhesion to the gastric mucosa, and helps overcome antibiotic resistance. In clinical trials such as NCT04713670, this combination is often evaluated as part of a 14-day quadruple therapy (BQ-V14) that also includes antibiotics like tetracycline and metronidazole, or as a triple therapy with amoxicillin, particularly in regions with high clarithromycin resistance.
