Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bisoprolol + candesartan is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) small molecule therapy being developed by Midas Pharma for the treatment of hypertension and heart failure with impaired systolic left ventricular function. Bisoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker that reduces heart rate and myocardial contractility. Candesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, leading to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion. The combination aims to provide synergistic blood pressure control and improved outcomes in heart failure patients by targeting two distinct pathways in the cardiovascular system.
