Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The bispecific T-cell engager (anti-aberrant basaloid cell) is a preclinical immunotherapeutic candidate designed to selectively eliminate aberrant basaloid cells (ABCs) for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). ABCs are a unique population of senescent cells that drive the formation of fibroblastic foci and progressive scarring in lung tissue. Developed by Neotis in collaboration with Institut Curie and INSERM, this therapy utilizes a bispecific T-cell engager format to redirect cytotoxic T cells (via CD3 binding) to target and destroy these pathogenic senescent cells, aiming to halt or reverse the progression of pulmonary fibrosis.
