Overview

Bivalent rLukS-PV + rAT is a recombinant prophylactic vaccine developed to prevent infections caused by *Staphylococcus aureus*, including methicillin-resistant strains. The vaccine contains two recombinant protein antigens: rLukS-PV (a subunit of Panton-Valentine leukocidin) and rAT (recombinant α-toxoid). These components are designed to stimulate the immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies against both α-toxin and PVL, two major virulence factors of *S. aureus*. Clinical studies have shown that the bivalent formulation induces robust antibody responses with functional neutralizing activity in healthy adults, suggesting potential for prevention of *S. aureus* infections[1][2][3][6]. The vaccine was initially developed by Nabi Biopharmaceuticals.
