Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Remifemin plus Johanniskraut is an approved herbal medicinal product developed by Schaper & Brümmer for the relief of menopausal symptoms. It is a fixed-dose combination of a dry isopropanolic extract of black cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa) and a dry extract of St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum). The product is indicated for both vasomotor symptoms, such as hot flashes and excessive sweating, and psychological symptoms, including mood changes, nervousness, and irritability. It provides a hormone-free therapeutic option, containing no estrogens or phytoestrogens, and is particularly used in the early stages of menopause or for more severe complaints. The efficacy and safety of the combination have been documented in numerous clinical studies involving over 12,000 patients.
