Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BlueChew is a commercial telemedicine platform and brand that provides compounded chewable or sublingual tablet formulations of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, specifically sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil, for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. Unlike traditional FDA-approved pharmaceuticals, BlueChew products are compounded medications, meaning they are prepared by a pharmacy to meet specific patient needs and are not individually reviewed by the FDA for safety or efficacy. The active ingredients work by inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme, which increases blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. BlueChew was notably used as a comparator arm in clinical trials evaluating novel liquid sildenafil formulations such as Hezkue.
