BLX-7006 + BLX-0871

BLX-7006 + BLX-0871 is a novel dual-mechanism oral combination therapy being developed by Biolexis Therapeutics for the treatment of obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and metabolic diseases. The combination consists of BLX-7006, an oral small-molecule allosteric glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, and BLX-0871, a first-in-class isoform-selective adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activator. BLX-7006 targets a unique binding site on the GLP-1 receptor to enable cooperative signaling and overcome receptor desensitization. BLX-0871 specifically targets α2β1γ3 and α2β2γ3 AMPK complexes predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue. This combination is designed to provide superior weight loss while preserving muscle mass, addressing a significant limitation of current GLP-1 therapies.
