Overview

BMAC + deproteinized bovine bone is a combination regenerative therapy used for sinus floor elevation in patients with an atrophic posterior maxilla. Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) is an autologous product derived from the patient's bone marrow that contains a concentrated population of mesenchymal stem cells, hematopoietic stem cells, and various growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta). These components promote osteogenesis and angiogenesis. In this application, the BMAC is loaded onto a deproteinized bovine bone (DBB) scaffold, which serves as an osteoconductive matrix. The combination is designed to improve bone quality and quantity in the maxillary sinus to support dental implant placement. The therapy is being evaluated by Cairo University for its efficacy in enhancing bone regeneration compared to bovine graft alone.
