Overview

BMS-690514 + paclitaxel + carboplatin is an investigational combination therapy comprising BMS-690514, paclitaxel, and carboplatin. BMS-690514 is an oral small molecule inhibitor targeting several tyrosine kinases, including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR, also known as HER1), HER2, HER4, and vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR1, VEGFR2, VEGFR3)[1][2][3]. It thereby blocks both tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis, disrupting signaling pathways essential for tumor growth and vascularization. BMS-690514 is developed primarily for the treatment of solid tumors, especially non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other HER/VEGFR-driven cancers[1][2]. Paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits mitosis, and carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy drug that induces cytotoxic DNA crosslinks. The combination is under investigation for synergistic antitumor activity, particularly in cancers dependent on EGFR/HER/VEGFR pathways, such as NSCLC.
