BMS-962212 + aspirin is a combination of two drugs: BMS-962212, a first-in-class selective and reversible small molecule inhibitor of coagulation factor XIa (FXIa), and the antiplatelet agent aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). BMS-962212 is administered intravenously, while aspirin is typically given orally. This combination has been evaluated preclinically for its antithrombotic effects and assessed for bleeding risk. In a rabbit model, the combination did not increase bleeding time compared to BMS-962212 alone. BMS-962212 is under investigation as an acute antithrombotic agent due to its rapid onset and short duration, targeting the coagulation cascade by inhibiting FXIa activity, while aspirin inhibits cyclooxygenase and thus platelet aggregation.
