Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is an investigational combination therapy composed of four agents: - **BMS-986406**: an investigational monoclonal antibody targeting LILRB2 (also known as ILT-4), designed to decrease immunosuppressive effects in the tumor microenvironment by blocking LILRB2 and thereby potentially enhancing antitumor immune response[1][6]. - **Nivolumab**: a fully human monoclonal antibody against the programmed death-1 (PD-1) receptor, functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to increase T-cell activation and promote immune-mediated tumor destruction[6]. - **Carboplatin**: a platinum-based chemotherapeutic drug that induces DNA crosslinking, resulting in apoptosis of rapidly dividing tumor cells. - **Pemetrexed**: an antimetabolite chemotherapeutic that inhibits folate-dependent enzymes involved in DNA synthesis and cell replication. The combination is in clinical development for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, renal cell carcinoma, melanoma, ovarian cancer, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, bladder cancer, triple-negative breast cancer, and others. The therapy leverages immune modulation (via BMS-986406 and nivolumab) in tandem with cytotoxic chemotherapy (carboplatin and pemetrexed) to potentially enhance antitumor efficacy[1][2][3][5][6].
