This is an investigational cell therapy consisting of allogeneic bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSCs) developed by the Guangzhou General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Command. The therapy is specifically designed for the treatment of severe aplastic anemia (SAA), including cases refractory to standard immunosuppressive therapy. The active ingredient consists of culture-expanded allogeneic BM-MSCs supplied by the hospital's Center of Cell-Biological Therapy & Research. The mechanism of action involves the modulation of the patient's immune system and the provision of structural and functional support to the hematopoietic microenvironment within the bone marrow. Clinical evaluation has included Phase II trials assessing its efficacy as a monotherapy and as a co-transplantation agent alongside haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
