Overview

Bortezomib + cisplatin + gemcitabine is a chemotherapy combination regimen used primarily for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This combination incorporates bortezomib, a selective reversible proteasome inhibitor with proapoptotic effects, with the established chemotherapy doublet of gemcitabine and cisplatin. The regimen typically consists of bortezomib 1.0 mg/m² administered on days 1 and 8, gemcitabine 1000 mg/m² on days 1 and 8, and cisplatin 70 mg/m² on day 1 in 21-day treatment cycles. In clinical trials, this combination has shown activity in NSCLC patients with manageable toxicity profiles, with the primary adverse events being myelosuppression, particularly neutropenia and thrombocytopenia.
