Overview

Bortezomib + cyclophosphamide + prednisone (often abbreviated as CyBorP) is a combination chemotherapy regimen primarily used in the treatment of multiple myeloma, particularly in relapsed or refractory cases. - **Bortezomib** is a proteasome inhibitor that disrupts the degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, leading to apoptosis of malignant plasma cells by inhibiting the activation of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and other survival pathways. - **Cyclophosphamide** is an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA strands, resulting in inhibition of DNA replication and cell death. - **Prednisone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties; it induces apoptosis in certain cancerous lymphoid cells. This regimen has demonstrated high response rates and manageable toxicity profiles for patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma[1][2][8]. It may also be considered for use in other hematologic malignancies where these agents are indicated.
