Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bortezomib + lenalidomide + cyclophosphamide (often abbreviated as VDCR, VCRD, or VRD-C) is an investigator-assembled, multi-drug combination regimen primarily used for the treatment of multiple myeloma and plasma cell leukemia. The regimen combines three distinct therapeutic classes: bortezomib, a proteasome inhibitor; lenalidomide, an immunomodulatory imide drug (IMiD); and cyclophosphamide, an alkylating chemotherapy agent. It is typically administered alongside dexamethasone as a quadruplet regimen. This combination has been evaluated in clinical trials, such as the Phase 1/2 EVOLUTION study and the Phase 2 MUKnine OPTIMUM trial, as an induction or consolidation therapy for newly diagnosed, high-risk, or transplant-eligible patients. Because it is composed of separately marketed, off-patent, or generic drugs, there is no single pharmaceutical company developing the combination as a proprietary product.
