Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BP-C1 + BP-C2 is a combination therapy developed by Meabco A/S, consisting of a platinum-based anticancer agent (BP-C1) and a non-platinum benzene-poly-carboxylic acid complex (BP-C2). BP-C1 is a coordination complex of cis-diammineplatinum(II) with benzene-poly-carboxylic acids (BPCAs), designed to deliver platinum to tumor cells with lower systemic toxicity compared to traditional platinum agents like cisplatin. BP-C2 is a BPCA-based formulation without platinum, intended to act as an immunomodulator and cytoprotective agent to enhance the efficacy and tolerability of the treatment. The combination has been investigated in clinical trials for metastatic breast cancer and pancreatic cancer, particularly in patients who have failed standard therapies.
