BP1001 + cytarabine is a combination therapy comprised of **BP1001**, a liposomal antisense oligodeoxynucleotide targeting the mRNA of **GRB2 (Growth factor receptor-bound protein 2)**, and **cytarabine**, an antimetabolite chemotherapeutic agent. BP1001 functions by blocking the translation of GRB2, a key protein involved in intracellular signaling pathways that mediate cancer cell survival and proliferation. Cytarabine interferes with DNA synthesis by inhibiting DNA polymerase, thereby suppressing the growth and division of cancer cells. This combination has been evaluated primarily in patients with refractory or relapsed **acute myeloid leukemia (AML)**, particularly those ineligible for intensive induction therapy, showing early evidence of anti-leukaemic activity and tolerability[1][3][5].
