Overview
BP1001-A + paclitaxel is an investigational combination therapy for solid tumors, particularly recurrent ovarian and endometrial cancers. BP1001-A is a modified formulation of prexigebersen (also known as prexigebersen-A), designed to enhance nanoparticle properties for improved tumor penetration. It acts as an antisense oligonucleotide targeting the Growth factor receptor-bound protein 2 (Grb2) protein, which is involved in tumor progression via activated or mutated tyrosine kinases. Paclitaxel is a well-established chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits cell division by stabilizing microtubules, thereby blocking mitosis. The combination aims to leverage the targeted inhibition of Grb2 with the cytotoxic effects of paclitaxel to improve outcomes in patients with advanced or recurrent ovarian and endometrial cancers. Clinical trials are ongoing to evaluate safety and efficacy[1][2][5][7].
