Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BR1018 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by Boryung Pharmaceutical for the concurrent management of essential hypertension and primary hypercholesterolemia (dyslipidemia). The drug integrates four active pharmaceutical ingredients with distinct mechanisms of action: fimasartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB); amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB); atorvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin); and ezetimibe, a selective cholesterol absorption inhibitor. By combining these four agents into a single tablet, BR1018 aims to simplify complex treatment regimens for patients with comorbid cardiovascular risk factors, potentially improving medication adherence. As of late 2024, the candidate is in Phase 3 clinical development, with clinical completion projected for December 2025.
