Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bria-OTS+ is a next-generation, off-the-shelf (OTS) personalized cell-based immunotherapy developed by BriaCell Therapeutics. It is an enhanced version of the Bria-IMT platform, utilizing the SV-BR-1-gm breast cancer cell line that has been genetically engineered to express Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF) along with additional co-stimulatory molecules such as CD80 and CD86. The therapy is designed to be off-the-shelf by using a library of cell lines that are matched to a patient's specific Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) type. This matching allows the engineered cells to effectively present tumor-associated antigens to the patient's T cells, while the expressed GM-CSF and co-stimulatory molecules provide the necessary signals to activate a robust anti-tumor immune response. Bria-OTS+ is currently being investigated for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including breast cancer and prostate cancer, aiming to provide a more potent and targeted immune activation than earlier iterations.
