Overview

CD07805/47 + placebo refers to a clinical trial treatment regimen consisting of a 0.5% topical gel formulation of brimonidine tartrate (CD07805/47) administered alongside a vehicle placebo. Developed by Galderma R&D, CD07805/47 is a small molecule alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. It works by inducing peripheral vasoconstriction of facial blood vessels to reduce the persistent erythema and flushing associated with rosacea. This specific combination was evaluated in Phase 2a clinical trials (such as NCT02300129) to assess the efficacy of brimonidine in preventing trigger-induced flushing in patients with erythematotelangiectatic or papulopustular rosacea. Brimonidine tartrate was later FDA-approved and marketed under the brand name Mirvaso at a 0.33% concentration for the treatment of persistent facial redness of rosacea.
