brimonidine + timolol

Bridin-plus is a preservative-free, fixed-dose combination ophthalmic solution containing brimonidine tartrate (0.2%) and timolol maleate (0.5%). Developed by Hanlim Pharm, it is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently controlled by topical beta-blockers or other IOP-lowering medications. Brimonidine is a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that lowers IOP by reducing aqueous humor production and increasing uveoscleral outflow. Timolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist that reduces IOP primarily by decreasing aqueous humor secretion. The preservative-free formulation of Bridin-plus is specifically designed to minimize ocular surface irritation and damage, which is often associated with long-term use of preserved eye drops containing benzalkonium chloride.
