Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Brinzolamide + brimonidine** is a fixed-dose ophthalmic suspension combining brinzolamide, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, with brimonidine, a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. Marketed most prominently as **Simbrinza**, it lowers elevated intraocular pressure by reducing aqueous-humor production; brimonidine also increases uveoscleral aqueous outflow. It is approved for reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension and provides a beta-blocker-free multidrug option for topical glaucoma management.
