Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VENTEX is a fixed-dose combination medication developed by Caplet India, primarily indicated for the treatment of productive cough associated with bronchospasm in respiratory conditions such as bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, and emphysema. The combination consists of three active pharmaceutical ingredients: terbutaline, bromhexine, and guaifenesin. Terbutaline is a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that acts as a bronchodilator, relaxing airway smooth muscle to ease breathing. Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent that thins and loosens thick phlegm by disrupting mucopolysaccharide fibers. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of respiratory tract secretions, facilitating their clearance via the cough reflex. Together, these components work synergistically to relieve chest congestion and improve airway clearance.
