Overview

A combination of bromhexine and hydroxychloroquine being studied as a prophylactic treatment for SARS-CoV-2 infection. Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent that specifically inhibits the transmembrane serine protease 2 (TMPRSS2), which is crucial for SARS-CoV-2 entry into cells.
