BSA@CuO-NPs are bovine serum albumin-coated copper oxide nanoparticles designed as radiosensitizers for cancer treatment, particularly glioblastoma. They are synthesized via carbodiimide crosslinking chemistry using EDC/NHS-mediated activation to covalently attach BSA to the copper oxide nanoparticle surface. The BSA coating enhances biocompatibility, colloidal stability, and cellular uptake while reducing aggregation in physiological environments. These nanoparticles work by enhancing the effects of ionizing radiation through increased DNA damage and apoptosis induction in cancer cells.
