Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang + Zhi Xue Tang + Chuan Xin Lian Kang Yan Pian Mod + Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan is a complex Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapeutic regimen evaluated for the treatment of chronic childhood immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). The combination consists of four distinct herbal formulations: Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction), Zhi Xue Tang (Stop Bleeding Decoction), a modified version of Chuan Xin Lian Kang Yan Pian (Andrographis Anti-inflammatory Tablet), and Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan (Emperor of Heaven's Special Pill to Tonify the Heart). This regimen is prescribed based on individual TCM diagnosis to address the underlying autoimmune dysfunction and bleeding symptoms associated with ITP. A Phase 2/3 clinical trial sponsored by Hebrew University investigated this combination's ability to improve platelet counts and quality of life while reducing the need for conventional medications, though the study was ultimately terminated.
