Overview
Neumoterol is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by GSK for the treatment of asthma. It consists of budesonide, a synthetic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory activity, and formoterol fumarate, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that provides rapid and sustained bronchodilation. The combination is delivered via a single capsule inhaler. In clinical studies, Neumoterol 400 (400/12 mcg) has been evaluated for non-inferiority against other established budesonide/formoterol products like Symbicort Forte. The dual mechanism of action addresses both the underlying airway inflammation and the bronchoconstriction associated with asthma.
