Overview
Budesonide + glycopyrronium + formoterol fumarate dihydrate is a fixed-dose triple-combination inhaled medication developed by AstraZeneca. It combines three active ingredients with distinct mechanisms of action: budesonide (an inhaled corticosteroid/ICS), glycopyrronium bromide (a long-acting muscarinic antagonist/LAMA), and formoterol fumarate dihydrate (a long-acting beta2-agonist/LABA). The medication is delivered via a pressurized metered-dose inhaler using Aerosphere co-suspension technology, which ensures uniform delivery of the three components. It is primarily indicated for the maintenance treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and is being investigated for the treatment of uncontrolled asthma.
